Vascular Devices (for red spots, angiomas, telangiectasias)

Vascular devices are advanced treatments designed to target and treat a variety of skin concerns related to blood vessels, including red spots, angiomas, and telangiectasias. These conditions, often characterized by visible blood vessels or clusters of red or purple spots on the skin, can result from factors like aging, sun damage, genetics, or hormonal changes. Vascular devices use focused light or laser energy to precisely target the blood vessels, causing them to collapse and gradually fade, resulting in clearer, more even-toned skin.

Vascular Lasers/Devices for Red Spots

  1. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): IPL therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses broad-spectrum light to target red and purple spots caused by broken blood vessels, including telangiectasias and angiomas. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, causing them to collapse and fade away over time. IPL is effective for treating a wide range of vascular concerns and provides a more even skin tone with minimal downtime.

  2. KTP Laser: The KTP laser is a type of laser that uses a specific wavelength of light to treat vascular issues like telangiectasias and small blood vessels. It targets the hemoglobin in the blood vessels, selectively heating and shrinking them. KTP lasers are particularly effective for treating facial redness and small, superficial blood vessels.

  3. Nd:YAG Laser: The Nd:YAG laser uses long-pulse laser technology to treat deeper vascular lesions. This laser penetrates deeper into the skin and is effective for treating conditions like varicose veins, larger blood vessels, and deeper angiomas. It is particularly useful for treating vessels located in deeper layers of the skin or those that are more difficult to target with other treatments.

  4. Sclerotherapy: click here to learn more. While primarily used for varicose veins, sclerotherapy can also be used to treat smaller vascular issues like spider veins on the lower extremities. A solution is injected directly into the affected blood vessels, causing them to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body over time. It is most effective for treating larger vascular concerns in the legs but can also be used for small facial vessels in some cases.
